Home Sweet Home Care Agency Ltd are like an extension of my family. My mother has Alzheimer's and Chronic Arthritis. The Carer's visit her 4 times a day at 4 hour intervals from 0730 until 2000 to administer her drugs, produce her meals, help her bathe, change her bed and see to her laundry and basic cleaning.
The Agency is extremely well organised and managed. The staff are well qualified, experienced, warm and welcoming. They are also a very stable workforce that very rarely leave so my mum has a little team of very familiar faces each week. I can honestly say she loves her Carer's (both male and female) because she likes them, trusts them totally and she knows they understand her sometimes complex personality. Because of her dementia and because of her severe pain mum can sometimes be very confused and even difficult to deal with but the team take all this in their stride. They usually leave mum smiling and even laughing. They do not treat her like a "30 minute task" that have to cope with. They treat her like they would their own mother or grandmother. They are not clock watchers either. I realised very early on that true and compassionate Carers like these treat time in a sensibly flexible way. Sometimes mum just wants her pills and to go to sleep. On other occasions she might be confused or frightened so the Carers visits can vary from 10 minutes to up to an hour. It is very much give and take and mum always benefits to the maximum.
If the Carers have the slightest concerns regarding mum they contact me and let me know. If her mood is bad, if she is "not right", if she is not eating, they ring, text or email me. From this I know that I do not need to worry between my regular visits. So many times they have tipped me off early when mum has strange or off colour so that I could get her medical attention and avoid having her rushed off to hospital.

They are now based in Driffield and cover Malton, Mkt Weighton, Pocklington, Wilberfoss. I defy anyone to find a better team of good Carer's.
